Planned in 1828, Westbury has a number of historic buildings, including the White House (no, a different one), on Village Green. Restored by the National Trust, this houses many displays, including toys from 100-150 years ago, 17th century furniture, and early-model cars. Another historic home is Culzean, with gardens that have been carefully attended to over 150 years.

Other types of vehicles are also on display in Westbury. Pearn's Steam World has restored farm machinery and steam engines dating to the turn of the century, and is one of the largest private collections in the southern hemisphere.

Westbury Maze is a hedge maze consisting of over 3000 privet bushes, and is immediately off the Bass Highway. There is also a gemstone and mineral display, featuring 30,000 samples, and also offering rough or polished Tasmanian stones & rocks to the public.

In the area, Four Springs, about 15 min to the northeast of the town, is good for trout fishing. Westbury has two 4-star and two 3½-star accommodations (RACT rated).
